Brit Davis-Hoopai joined Stephen W Gooch PC in June of 2020 after graduating with honors from Appalachian School of Law (ASL). While at ASL, she earned the top grade in several classes including Debtor/Creditor Law and Title Examination. At Stephen W Gooch PC, she has further developed those skills by taking an active role in the collections and real estate litigation departments. In the collections department, she has worked on both the creditor and debtor side of pre-judgment and post-judgment collections. In real estate litigation, she has handled partition suits, boundary disputes and adverse possession issues. She has taken the lead role in the firm on landlord/tenant disputes and evictions, keeping up with the shifting landlord/tenant laws in Virginia and Tennessee. 

 

Brit also focuses on drafting contracts, leases, business documents, trusts and testamentary documents. She has handled various civil litigation matters and practices criminal law in Virginia and Tennessee.

 

Brit has a deep love for the people and land of Southwest Virginia. She was born and raised in Buchanan County as the daughter of a coal miner.
